Help me to care for others, forgetting myself all the while, Doing the work of the Master, cheerfully with a smile. Fill my heart with the riches that come from a loving soul, The joys, the pain, the fulfillment, knowing; 'tis Thy will. In the night's long darkness and early morning hours, Shine Thy light upon me. Be my guiding star. Give to me understanding, help me to do the right, Strengthen me with courage to work through this long night. Whenever death surrounds me and means of pain I hear, Cause them to fall, dear Lord, on a sympathetic ear. Let all my prayers be answered, as by some bed I stand Holding an ever searching, weak, pathetic hand. Impart some measure of the strength that is in me To all these ailing people. Cause them some day to see God as the giver of life, man's most precious gift. God takes it, maintains it, gives it, all for Love of thee. Thanks, Lord, for my many blessings, for all the joys of life, Which are so abundantly given when we walk in Thy guiding light. We, the cl ass of 1961, dedicate our Sola Fide to the memory of our classmate JEAN MARIE FITZ After a brief illness, Jean succumbed to poliomyeli- tis on July 3, 1959, Jean will always have a special place in each of our hearts, Sometimes we can't quite understand Our Great Creator's way, When He takes a life so young and leaves one withered, old, and gray. Whose life work seems finished, perhaps is waiting for the call While that life so young and tender held so much here for us all. Then sometime I get to thinking perhaps this world down here below, Is just a flower garden where God's flowers live and grow. And perhaps when God is lonely, like us, He loves to roam In His garden, gathering flowers just to beautify His home. Tho' He takes the full-bloom flowers, drooped and withered that need His care, Still He needs a bud or blossom to scatter, with them, here and there. So He takes a few choice blossoms, just the rarest He can find, God needs them up in Heaven, while others are left behind. We remember the tests in Med-Surg Two The late hours kept when care studies were due. The fun we had at our parties and such And look forward to Departments very much. Yes, daytime, evenings, night duty, too We experienced them all in uniforms blue But as we fall into bed each night We dream of the day we'll be working in white. a Do freshmen FIRST ROW: S.
