1987 Literary Rally IHS sent a thirty-six member team to the Southwest Louisiana District Literary Rally at McNeese on March 14, 1987. Twenty-four of them placed and fifteen were state qualifiers. At state, Joy Nelson won second place in English I and Alvin Cormier won third place in American government. Six students placed first at MSU: Dana Sharp, Ste- nography I, Greg Miller, Vo. Ag. III, Chris Evans, computer science, Debra Howell, Consumer Home- making I, Laurie Vidrine, human development and family relationships, and Kevin Natali, Vo. Ag. I. Tak- ing second were Doug Nunez, general business, Eric Alexander, free enterprise, Christi Denison, Vo. Ag. ll, Lee Ann Marcantel, Vo. Ag IV, Charles Droddy, physical science, and Marlon Marshall, world geogra- Phv.
