CLASS HISTORY Twelve years ago, the present Senior Class, with bright expectant faces, presented itself to the first grades of various schools to delve into the mysteries of Readin', Ritein', and Rithmetic. Of the thirty or thirty five first graders who started here in thirty-nine only seven, Carol Breaux, Martha R. McCown, Ronnie H i 11 i a rd , Clinton Denny, Edmond Daigle, Randolph Guilliory, and Lawrence Robideaux, have remain- ed to the end. The rest of the present senior class has joined these either in the grades or in high school. After going through the usual trials and tribulations of elementary students quarrels, pranks, and pnnishment, appearing in Concerts scrubbed and shin- ing in new white dresses and ribbons, long pants and bow ties, we finally en- tered Junior High School with Miss Funk as our teacher. We started our high school year with an enrollment of twenty six eager freshmen, full of enthusi- asm and extreme ideas, which our principal Mr. Watson immediately curbed and directed into the right channels. As a result, we are able to do big things this year. We entered our Soph- omore year with few new faces. This was another year which we enjoyed to the fullest. When we came to school as Juniors we missed several old faces. We gave a most successful Junior Senior Prom under the sponsorship of Miss Funk. The decorations were breath taking, the music was divine, and oh! what lovely dresses! In September as seniors we entered school with a new dignity befitting our classifications. Our number was increased by one new member Noris Parham who came to spend his last year of high school with us. .Iowa High will suffer greatly the loss of several football stars. Dale Stine, Clinton Denny, Wilfred Bourne, Randolph Guillory, Wood Menard, A. J. Johnson, Lawrence Robideaux, Iowa High will also suffer the loss of several star basketball players both boys and girls. Also several dependable and indispensible helpers in various depart- ments. We will always remember our Parents and Teachers for making it possible for us to arrive at the junction of our educational career.
