During the course of the year the Student Council has served as the legislative body of the Iowa Falls High School, as well as having provided and, sponsored many interesting assembly programs and dances. Highlights of the '45 and '46 assemblies were the Ritz Music Makers: Nutchuck, who thrilled us with his experiences in Alaska and his piano arrangements of Alaskan folk music, and Iesse Rae Taylor, the versatile quick change character portrayer. Among the social events sponsored by the Council was the Homecoming Dance, at which the Homecoming Queen was announced. The Queen, Ann Welden, was crowned in an im- pressive ceremony by Arend Tjarks, football captain of the Clarion game. The next dance was in honor of the Pin-Up-Girl, LaDonna Lettow. At Christmas the Student Council solicited funds with which they bought a beautiful Christmas tree and decorations. The l945-46 Council has met and overcome difficulties, and hopes next year's Council will enjoy serving the students as much as this one has. Jmron orwrdtms SH- GPEIGEHS sctvnesmand QPPIQHHS sir.
