S luden ls Prepare for Agricultural Careers Roger Nuehring tests corn for Weight per bushel. The one-year Elevator and Farm Supply Manage- ment program was designed to provide training for careers in modern agriculture. The program featured five sessions of which three were in the classroom and two were on-the -job training. Under the in- struction of Mr. john Bartlett and Mr. Gary Astor, the trainees spent classroom time studying technical ag- riculture and learning about the marketing, manage- ment, and distributive functions of the Elevator and Farm Supply industry. Donna Martin checks a letter for mistakes, The Executive Secretary program provided the nec- essary training for careers as secretaries of manage- ment personnel to. those students who had already had some secretarial training, Students, under the director of Mrs, Marilyn Price and Miss Vickie Bur- row, spent three to four hours a day in the classroom and three hours per day in superivsed on-the-job training, The students studied typing, shorthand, of- fice machines, filing, secretarial procedures, and accounting, The classroom was filled with modern office furniture, electric typewriters, office ma- chines, and instructional shorthand equipment, Linda Schoonover studies shorthand before a speed test.
