These were comments made by W. G. Bennett, Eagle Grove science instructor, as he lectured on pollution during Earth Day activities April 22. junk--smoke--carbon monoxide--smog- -garbage-- human wastes--fertilizers-- insecticides- -herb- icides. POLLUTION! ICCC students are trying to help, as the Student Senate planted two trees on the campus lawn as part of the activities during the week of April 22, and last year some of the ICEG students picked up cans and litter along the roadsides. 30

Craig Kinseth Gary Christianson Gary Hutchins Duane Odland Homecoming Climaxea' by Coronation and an A cold, wintry Ian. 17 was the setting for the Fourth Annual Eagle Grove Campus Homecoming held at the Eagle Grove High School. The coronation of Miss Mary Erland, of Eagle Grove, and Mr. Dennis Brechler, of Albert City, as Queen and King climaxed the half-time homecoming fes- tivities. Mary and Dennis were chosen from a court of five women and five men in a special student- body election held jan. 9. Hali-time of the Pirates-Waldorf game opened with a welcome from Dean Carl Thorson. Following the welcome, the king and queen candidates were intro- duced by Master of Ceremonies Dwight Anderson. 1969 King and Queen, Joseph Becker and Nancy Naughton, revealed the names of the new king and queen. 1 970 Homecoming Dance Following the coronatilon, Mary and Dennis took their places under the lwatchful eye of the Eagle Pirate. Those in the queen's court were: Gayle Dooley, Eagle Grove, julie Hippen, Thor, Pat Kep- pers, Eagle Grove, and Beverly Smith, Eagle Grove. In the king's court were: Gary Christiansen, Bode, Gary Hutchins, Milwaukee, Wis.g Craig Kinseth, Ottosen, and Duane Odland, Eagle Grove. The Pirates defeated Waldorf of Forest City in an offense-dominated basketball game. Terry Nelson paced the Pirates with 29 points and 23 rebounds. Tom Morocco added 23 points to secure a 109--100 win. A dance was held at the Eagle Grove Memorial Hall Ecstasy, a local Fort Dodge group, provided the mu- sic. Anxious Moments at the Bench.
