The picnic helped students make new acquaintances with other students and the faculty. Activities of the night, of course, included all the hot dogs, beans, potato chips, and pop one could consume. Each one roasted his own hot dogs and marshmallows over a blazing campfire--that is, un- less he could find someone nice enough to brave the heat for him. After the eating was finished, everyone could do his own thing in participating in any sport he preferred. There was a wide variety ranging from just getting acquainted to playing catch or baseball. Finally, everyone left with appetite fully satisfied and with many new friends.

Commuting Students Together The Christmas season at the Eagle Grove center was highlighted by the Christmas Cotillion on Dec. 12. The Cotillion, as sponsored by the Senate, was em- ceed by Student Senate Pres. Denny Brechler. The evening opened with a turkey dinner with all the trimmings, as served by the cooks at the high school cafeteria. Following the dinner, Robert Morgan, accompanied by Mrs. Marcue Boe, led everyone in singing carols. A dance topped off the evening. It was held in the high school gym, which was decorated for the holi- day season. Soul Motion, a group composed of Gary Christiansen, Craig Kinseth, Scott Thieben, Mike Martin, and Steve Brock, furnished the music. 29
