Thirty-Four Students Make the Deans List Thirty-four students were on the Dean's List the first semester. A student must maintain a 3.00, or B average, or above to qualify for this honor. Student Senate Active in Solving Confznftunity College Problems FRONT ROW- -Dennis Brechler fpres.j, Gary Christiansen Cv. pres.j, Patricia Keppers Qsec. lst sem.j, Jayne Minikis Qtreas.j, Mr. William Bennett fspon.J, Marcia Kvale, Craig Kinseth. BACK ROW-- Under the direction of Pres. Denny Brechler, the Student Senate carried on routine business and also played an active role in solving some of the prob- lems that plague the Eagle Grove center. Working to draw the students into a closer student body, the Senate sponsored many activities, such as the fall student-faculty picnic, weekly feature films, tri- campus dances, the annual Christmas Cotillion, winter sledding parties, and the spring prom. A stereo was purchased by the Senate for lounge Leon Mulford, jerry DeBoom, Marcia Conaway, Robert Morgan, Jim Jorgensen, john Underbmg, Rand Cramer, Paul Dreasler, Verla Graves fsec. 2nd sem.j, Jim Knoll. dances that were held after basketball games and wrestling meets. Also with the lounge funds, the Senate purchased furniture for the second-floor hall, a flag pole, trees for landscaping, and a trophy case. ln February the Senate contracted for a pool table in the lounge. The Senate was not resistant to change, for they in- stituted new organizations and revised the constitution dealing with student-faculty representation.

Honor Society Has Banquet in April This year Duane Odland headed the IACC VTI Honor Society at the Eagle Grove Center. Mem- bers of this group are eligible for membership on the basis of their scholastic achievement. To be eligible for temporary membership a stu- dent must maintain a grade point average of 3.25 or above for a semester term and carry at least 1-2 hours of semester credit. Permanent membership is achieved by a student's com- pleting these requirements for three semesters. With permanent membership comes the recog- nition of graduating with honors. The following students achieved a grade point average of 3.25 or higher: Willie Chidester, Sharman Hill, Duane Odland, Marcia Anderson, Pat Moore, Lowell Jensen, Cody Riddle, Olga Boehme, Vicky Helmke, Mary Knoshaug, Terry Lodden, Steve Mraz, Ronald Nelson, Stephen Olson, Bill Wright, Marcia Kvale, Erik Lomen, Dennis Michels, Jayne Minikis, Robert Nelson, Gary Smith, Verla Draves, Susan Nicklaus. LEFT--Honor Students dine at the annual ban- quet, this year held at Ron's Restaurant in Goldfield on Monday, April 27. Mr. Theodore Kappes, speech instructor, gave the main ad- dress of the evening, and Dr. Edwin Barbour, ICCC superintendent, presented the honor pins.
