ABC invested $35 million - and 14 hours of primetime- in a controversial, what-if miniseries . about a Soviet takeover of the U.S. in 1996. It ended up lengthy and worse yet, boring!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Many people gave up watching f , TV, [if possible,] and turned on the HBO, Cinemax, Showtime, ESPN, etc. Cable was extremely popular,except,of course, in the country. In college ball, U of M was defeated in the Rose Bowl by Arizona State,but GRJC won the Texas Tyler, Junior College bowl. The ■ ■ . Detroit Redwings were rev du- alized and moved to the top of their division - underdogs turn topdogs! The Pistons also moved up from the depths and into the top of their league. We got used to watching our Detroit Lions lose out play very, very shabbily!
