Indeed, there were those who spent small fortunes on designer clothes, such, as Union “Bay, Lacosste, and Qenerra for the guys, and OutbacCRed, “Esprit, and forenza for the gals. Quess and Coca Cola clothes were seen on both sexes. “But there were those who mixed and matched wonderfully without paying for the top designer's new red “Porsche. Camouflage, safari prints, bulky oversized sweaters, Rgebok, metallic shoes, belts, and bags, Swatches, and chunky or wooden jewelery were funky additions to any wardrobe. Many guys got the ‘SOI blues,’ Levi's were SlOT! Skirts were of any length-ankfe, knee, or the ever popular mini-skirt. Of course anything denimn was StOT! fir Is traded their pony tails for big barretts zvith bows attatched. Quys returned to the 50’s zvith crew cuts of various forms. Mohawks were still seen, and during their sport, many faithful ’Eawgs’ had their number cut into their hair. So no matter how much cash you forked out to look. Page 7 text: “!!!!!!!! HHH- rm Many Americans saw red over the mini- series of Amerika. ABC invested $35 million - and 14 hours of primetime- in a controversial, what-if miniseries . about a Soviet takeover of the U.S. in 1996. It ended up lengthy and worse yet, boring!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Many people gave up watching f , TV, [if possible,] and turned on the HBO, Cinemax, Showtime, ESPN, etc. Cable was extremely popular,except,of course, in the country. It must have been the Big Apple Year 'cuz in baseball, the Mets beat the Boston Red Sox in the 1986 World Series. In college ball, U of M was defeated in the Rose Bowl by Arizona State,but GRJC won the Texas Tyler, Junior College bowl. The ■ ■ . Detroit Redwings were rev du- alized and moved to the top of their division - underdogs turn topdogs! The Pistons also moved up from the depths and into the top of their league. We got used to watching our Detroit Lions lose out play very, very shabbily!
