Spirit Week Kindles Affection for IHS The student council sponsored “Spirit Week” which was observed February 26 through March 1. at IHS. An innovation last year, “Spirit Week” is a week specially designed to promote school spirit. This year, a different event was scheduled for each day. Monday was set aside for a contest to see which class had the most students registering for the bus to the game. On Tuesday, the students were asked to wear the school colors, blue and white. Wednesday was school improvement day and the classes competed to see which could collect the most litter in specially assigned trash boxes. Thursday brought a contest to see which class could make the best and most posters promoting school spirit. Friday, students wore black to mourn for the poor Hastings Saxons who met their doom that night. A pep assembly was held at noon and students took part in the jug contest. “Spirit Week” was a success for student, teachers, and the team! Really Slmron. you can’t win for your class that way! The noon hour pep assembly aroused spirit for that night. John and Dave wonder if the Juniors will ever make it. Anybody walking in study hall was reminded what week it was.
