Ciangi Their Pep and Vitality are Unsurpassecl Action and excitement dominate the gymnasium when the 90 girls in G.A.A. gather for one of the many activities offered them by the club. Constituting the sports agenda for the year were speedball and tumbling in the fall, basketball and bowling during the winter, and softball and tennis for the spring season. In addition, many individual sports were available. Under the direction of Mrs. Susan Shutes, the various teams competed with each other for G. A .A. Bowling This year bowling was one of the most popular sports on the G.A.A. schedule. Eight teams com- peted for the title of I.H.S. championship bowlers. Officers of the league were Barb Stout, president, Sue Hiler, vice-president, and Suzanne Little, secretary. B. Stout, pres., S. Hiler, v. pres., S. Little, sec. honors to be awarded them at the end of the year. Ionia G.A.A. played host to girls from neighboring schools for a Play Day in the spring. They also sponsored a post-game dance November 7 with pro- ceeds going for records and equipment. Sportsmanship and team participation are stressed, but individual accomplishments are equally important to the girls. They are satisfied only when they know they are doing their best.
