1,-iss :M 70 22 Dear Diary: On September l l953, a group of green freshmen entered the halls of Iola High School wondering just what was in store for them. with the help of Mr. Olson, our class advisor we selected the following officers: Delores Vaughan, President- Jesse Lou- ison, Vice Treasurer. President, Lana Hoyord, Secretary, and Paul Herter, Janet Olson and James Dimmock represented us on the Student Council. Then finally we became an official part of the school. It was initiation day. Our class was well represented in sports and the different organizations. All in all we had a lot of fun and the end of the year left us looking forward to our next year as sophomores. August 31, 195k Dear Diary, On August 31 forty freshmen from last year became official sophomores Danielson, Secretary, Morey were le was our Woods made The following were chosen as class officers! Kenny 'President, Bill Gaskell, Vice President, Janet Olson, and Darlene Loken, Treasurer. Lana Hoyord and Allen chosen as Student Council representatives. Mrs. Cab- class advisor. During the course of the year, Kenny his debut. Many of our classmates participated in the extra-curricular activities and we presented the Lincoln Day Pro- gram. September 6, 1955 Dear Diary, 1 One sunny September morning, thirty-eight vigorous Juniors headed for school. To lessen the number of classmates, Sandra Green, Shirley Wickersham, and Kenneth Woods left us. Our class officers for this year were: Ernie Christiansen, President, Kar- en Langdok, Vice President, Harvey Olson, Secretary, and Lana Hoy- ord, Treasurer. Bill Gaskell and Shirley Loken served on the Stu- dent Council. The junior class play, nShy Guyl was held on Nov- ember 30. Then came the biggest event of the year, the Junior Prom held on April 6 1956yin honor of the senior class. Bob Gun- derson, king, chose Shirley Loken as his queen. The court of honor included Lana Hoyord, Janet Olson and Carolyn Sorenson. The music was provided by Ray Kramer and the theme was HB1ue Star.N Allen Morey and James Dimmock were chosen to go to Badger Boys State visor was Mr. Lenz. and Lana Hoyord to go to Badger Girls State. Our class ad- September 5, 1956 Dear Diary, As we gathered in the halls of school to begin our last year, we found there were some familiar faces missingi they were' Lana H0Y0I'd, Jeanette Weibe, Bernard Kitzmann, Bill Gaskell, Bruce West- tenfeld, and Nancy Akey. Larry Clifton left during the course of the year. Despite these losses we were fortunate to gain one new member who was George Dorsett. We elected the following as our class ffi ' o cers- Allen Morey, President, John Wilson, Vice Pres- identg Janet Olson, Secretary, and Delores Vaughan, Treasurer. James Dimmock was elected Student Council President and Shirley Loken and Kenneth Danielson were chosen council members. Carolyn Sorenson participated in the one act play, Uwhich is the Way to Boston? The well earned D.A.R. award went to Karen Joan Langdok Graduation plans were then in full swing. Blue and Silver were chosen as class colors pink roses as the class flower, and the motto was nOut of the Barber into the Deep N Our class advis - or vfgiaM1lIi:hCleaves. Shirley Loken, will this year's annual to next year's editor so she won't have to worry about making a new one. Larry Louison, will my ability to talk about everything that means nothing and still win an argument, to my brother Dale. Allen Morey, will my ability to play basketball to Joseph Leea Mary Jane Moriarty, will my tumbling ability to Roslind Goli. Lyle Mork will everything I don't need to anyone who feels he may be able to use it. Everett Nelson, will my hot rod to James Fiane. Virgil Nowak, will my ability to understand Shakespeare to Larry Rice. Harvey Olson, will my good times and late hours to Dennis Amundson. Janet Olson, will my neatness to the late risers on school days. Ole Olson, will my bookkeeping ability to anyone who is dumb enough to think he'1s smart enough to do it.
