BOYS' ATHLETICS FOR 1949 '50 Out of the eight football games played during the 1949 season we won only one and lost seven The team was badly handicapped by inexperlence and lack of weight Only one first string player will be lost by graduation this spring, so there should be much improvement next fall The basketball team made a good start by wlnnlng the first fame, but we could not keep our winning ways Two additional vlctories over Isola or three games for the season, totaled our winning games against 17 losses As the Annual goes to press the baseball team can boast of two victorles, one over Isola and one over Linn We have lost two Itta Bena, Moraan City, Tchula, and Linn The athletlc picture for the boys durin this school year has been cloudy, but we feel that the sun will break through next fall and keep ShlHiDW on the Tlgers for 1950 '51 session We base this of the teams wlll gr duate this sprin Senior boys who have played thelr last for I H S are R may Tinnin, John L Shepard, Roy Davis and Billy Stowers With lmproved school spirlt and better team morale next year there is no good reason why Inverness cannot have winning teams The organ lzatlon of the Central Delta Conference, includlng the smaller schools in this rea, will make lt possible for our schedules to be more in keeping wlth the weights nd the team abllity we have . .
