In 1954 an industrial arts shop was built. union: High Principal Mr. Harold Davis is principal of the Junior High in the New Virginia building. Football was add- ed to the curriculum here as well as at the high school. The junior high held another very successful carnival this year, under Mr. Davis' supervision. The addition on the north, consisting of the gymnasium, the music room, and the home economics laboratory, was added in 1939. In 1953, the industrial arts shop, the science laboratory, and two grade rooms were added on the south. During the summer of 1962 a football dressing room was erected, and the former study hall was remodeled into a library and one class room. High School Principal In the second year of the re- organization, Mr. Larry Pollock, Principal, had the task of coor- dinating the new, to us, sport of football and declamatory with our many other existing activities. He was assisted in his office chores by Mrs. Thelma Armstrong.

Elementary Principal M r . Reed Jordan spends part of each day at the ten-room ele- mentary school at St. Charles. Mrs. Pat Lathrum as- sists him in the principa1's office. Mr. Jordanis also the school's counselor, and works with stu- dents at the junior and senior high schools. His work is largely con- cerned with help- ing students take a long-range view of their educa- tio n al programs so that they will be equipped a s well as possible for their a f te r- graduation life. 1 ST. CHARLES BUILDING The two- story portion of this building was erected in 1911. In 1938, the gym- nasium was ad- dedg and in 1956, six modern ele- mentary class- rooms were add- ed. I J . 13
