Although we have known him only one school year, we feel as though it has been much longer because he has always been willing to work with us toward a successful year. His cheerful greeting we received in the halls remain with us throughout our future years. C1ee C1u'0 1,2.'5 YX1gn11gnte Yeper '5 'rV1gYx11gn'c.e P.nnua1 'LU C1eee Secretary Z '5en1or ?1ey Student, Coon-311 3 'Lon SQVDQG 1 590 1181. qw FLORENCE BHP-DEN Bam 1 2,3 Gle C ub N ghlights baper , Highlights Annual Jvnlor Pla! enl Play Police For N 6 ELSXE QOBDEN Glee Club l 2, Hlghllg ts baper S5113 ts mm ass Play Class Reporter Senior ?lay Transferred fro Burg THAN EQ DUNN Yollce FOTG A H Glee Gldb 41I' 4.7 ,MDG-5434 --- In September of 1951 we entered our long waited freshman year The first thing we did was elect the following officers President, Janet Gleason, Vice President, Bill Snow, Secretary Treasurer, Leona Jackson This was a very exciting year for all of us learning to work together as a class and getting accustomed to high school Van Benschoten was our class advisor that first year and helped us over our rough spots we had members of our class participating in most of the school activities That year for our class activity we put on a play UBobby Sox as an assembly program, which was a big success The following September we entered our sophomore year better acquainted with high school With Mr Elliott as our advisor we started making money for our Senior Trip we had the largest skating party this school had ever had and we have yet to be sur passed by any other class Our class officers for the year were President, Ramona Anthony, Vice President, C Fuller, Secretary, P Hungerford, and Treasurer, J Gleason This year we lost Ralph Doty who went in the Navy In the spring we put on our play 'Aunt Billie Goes To Texas' as part of the year's assemblies we had 41 in our class which gave us three representatives and one senator This year we lost Beulah Wallenbeck, Shirley White, Phyllis Mabie and Cliff Hickok, who came back to join us in our senior year The following September we entered our junior year Our homeroom was divided so the boys had Mr Glidden as homeroom teacher and the girls had Miss Madigan However beginning of the year President, Howard Feldman, Vice President, Bill Snow, Secretary, Rebecca McComb, Treasurer, Ramona Anthony This year we really had to get out to earn the money we needed to go on our Senior Trip We had dances, skating parties, and bake sales, but the highlight was our Junior Play, 'The Darling Bratsn which, like everything else was very profitable we added two new members to our class, Shirley Sherwood and guth Van Galder At the same time we lost Carl DeParde, Pat Rozelle and Beverly arnsworth In September the Class of '55 entered the long audited senior year The first thing we did was elect our class officers President, Dave Messmer, Vice President, Bill Snow, Secretary, Shirley Sherwood and Treasurer, Fran Brownell Our first activity of the year was our subscription drive at which we exceeded our goal of 82500 This was a new high set by the Class of '55 for Interlaken After our sub scription drive we started with dances, skating parties, pie sales and a stationery drive Our nlay nOff The Track' was a big success along with our other activities This year the Class of '55 decided to go to Washington for the Senior Trip This was a very successful trip and proved to be the climax of our twelve wonderful years at Interlaken Central School Now as we leave I C S we hope you will remember us as we will always remember you 17 O V ' . The distinguishing colors of the F. H. A. are red and white. The colors are sym- bolic of youth--youth which has courage and determination tosucceed,yet has innocence and purity. is also symbolic of home life, where success is of utmogt importance. The flower of the F. H. A. is a red rose. A red rose is symbolic of vibrant glowing health, which contributes to happiness and efficiency in home and group life. The pin is made up of the emblem and a guard. The motto of the F. H. A., 'Toward New Horizons H expresses the purpose of the organization-learning to live better today in order that our lives and those of our families may be better tomorrow. 4?
