In 1921, Glen-Nor Junior Senior High School opened its doors at South and Sylvan Avenues in Glenolden. The students from Glenolden and Nor- wood attended Glen-Nor Junior Senior High School. The students from Prospect Park attended the Pros- pect Park Junior Senior High School located at Tenth and Washington Avenues in Prospect Park. On April 21, 1955, the school boards of the bor- oughs of Glenolden, Norwood and Prospect Park ap- proved a plan whereby the three boards formed the Interboro Joint School Board. In 1959, an extensive expansion program was completed in both the Ju- nior and Senior High Schools, and in 1966, students from Tinicum Township were added on a tuition ba- sis to the school district. In July 1969, Tinicum Town- ship became a member of the Interboro Jointure. In the summer of 1970, the Department of Education gave preliminary approval for the construction of a new senior high school. On July 1, 1971, the Interboro Jointure was changed and became the Interboro School District. In September 1975, the new Interboro High School was opened, and the first graduating class from the new building was the Class of 1976. In September 1976, the 9th grade was added to the high school. The Interboro School District presently has a ninth to twelfth grade high school and a sixth to eighth grade middle school in each of the four community schools. 2
