CLASS PRQPHECY Of 1956 Dear Mr. Phillips: After twenty years, I have finally got a chance to travel a little. I decided I would travel around and see what had happened to the fine, intelligent, studious class of 1956, and I thought you might like to know too. First of all I went back to Oklahoma to see if anyone had stayed in the Old Home Town. As I entered the thriving metropolis of Inola, I noticed that a basketball game was in progress. You would never guess who was coach- -Deloris Honeycutt Adams. She told me that her best players -were Dicky, Nicky, and Licky Beard, sons of Virginia Beard and husband George. It seems that Virginia has really become civic minded, she has established a sewing circle in Inola. When the ball game was over, I drove on to Tulsa to visit Phyllis Dunlap, who was married to the president of Tulsa University, Thomas Dunn. She was so thrilled at the thought of seeing all the class mates again that she decided to go with me. Phyllis talked me into going to some of the better social gatherings in Tulsa that evening, so we went to the wrestling matches. Who would be refereeing the matches but Shirley McGrew. She told us that Clayrene McDaris Vaught was now teaching biology at Northeastern State Teachers' College, Tahlequah, where she has won much fame for her ability to dissect a flea. From Tulsa, we went to Kansas City. While we were there, we saw the Globe Trotters who were managed by none other than Dale Vaught. He told us that his old friend, Larry Klinefelter, was known far and wide for the road signs he painted. We decided we would stop by to see Tommy Joe Brown in Minnesota, who was now pres- ident of the American Dairy Association. We asked him what had happened to Christop- her Duncan. He told us that Chris was very rich now. He had invented an automatic horn for Plymouths, that honked at cute girls. While we were in that part of the country, we stopped by Chicago to see if we could get Mr. America of 1976 to give us his autograph. You can't imagine our surprise when we found out it was our old schoolmate, Charles Philpot. We asked him what had happened to Butch Spurlock and Tommy Riggs. He told us that they now owned the Indianapolis Speedway. From Chicago, we traveled on to New York to see the premier of the new million dollar movie which starred Bob Luster, the famous romeo of the screr 1. We were walking down Broadway, when we saw a neon sign which read, You Never Flunk with Funk. When we investigated, we found it was our old frierzu, Janice Funk. She's making millionsltraining models. She told us that one part of the course was taking dancing lessons at Arthur Murray's Studios which were now managed by Lloyd Hardison. While we were in Miami Beach, Florida, we saw Dr. Joe Ben Simmons. He told us ' that he doctored French poodles for sun burns. While we were in New York we went to the National Cooking Contest. The winner was Russell Brunson, He won first place with his recipe for caviar and spam sandwiches ala mode. We decided we would go abroad for a month or two. While in Paris, we met Madame Doris Brunson, the famous author. Her latest book, HOW TO STAY SINGLE, is a best seller. Doris told us that Mary Ann Smith was a big game hunter in India. She also trains tigers to catch men who are AWOL. It seems that she is an honorary AP for the Air Force. Well, that includes all of our class except me.
