As the summer ended thoughts of sling- ing freshmen through mud. worching them struggle with the lopsided dummies, ond seeing them sweat in the hot gruelling summer afternoon practices filled the minds of mony upperdossmen as the foot- ball season rolled around. The 1963 year started with much an- ticipation. a new cooch. new ploys, ond new ideas. The style of eight-man football become more ond more the mode os everyone, coaches, players, and fons become wropped up in it. Everyone, par- ticipators. ond spectators, enjoyed the competition. The smoll Teuton club, led by Scott Friesen at quorterbock, gave the viewers spectoculor sights with Friesen s passing ond receptions by Randy Ellis. Rondy Jenkins and Com Vincent. Brian Ediger ond Tony Durke odded to the show with their running gome The Teuton line put up o strong defense causing the opponents to moke several attempts td run the ball For these achievements, mony teom members were named to the All-District VI Teom. Russ Ediger received 1st ream linebacker ond offensive line Scorr Friesen was selected to the 1st teom defensive bock position os well as 2nd ream quorter- bock. ond All-Store Cornerbock. Frank Schrog was ploced on the 2nd ream In the position of defensive linemon Randy Ellis ond Rondy Jenkins were selected to the 2nd teom as defensive ends Richard Gor- do was named to the 2nd teom running bock position.
