A special tribute to a wonderful man: This year the yearbook staff and the students and fac- ulty of Inman High School dedicate this yearbook to a man who has been an inspiration to all of us. Mr. Goering has lived all his life in McPherson County and has taught thirty-eight of his thirty-nine teaching years in the Inman Schools: twelve years at Turkey Creek, twelve years at Inman Grade where he also served as principal and fourteen years at Inman High where he has been principal for the past nine years. Mr. Goering attended college during the depression but still found it possible to participate in athletics, debate, music, and dramatic productions. His father encouraged him to go into teaching and he found he enjoyed it and has made it his life-long profession. He has taught many subjects but his first love is still sci- ence. He said his most memorable experiences have included winning a trip to Russia and winning a scholar- ship that enabled him to study in Germany. Since his trips there he has spent many happy hours sharing both pictures and experiences with his family and friends as well as the students and the public. His plans for the future are indefinite but he hopes to continue doing a little farming” and perhaps more traveling. We know his plans include having time to read the many books he has collected over the years. He is also an avid collector of historical coins and a great quoter of poetry. Mr. Goering has worked in the community and in Eden church all his life and we know his family will enjoy having the opportunity to spend more time with him although we will miss him often. Mr. Goering has the following words of wisdom for all students. So conduct your schooling that when you look back, you won’t wish you hadn't.” Pictured; Mr. Goering in his German class: in his office: Bertha Reimer, Secretary, and the student body a constant responsibility for the principal.

This year the yearbook staff and the students and faculty of Inman High School dedicate this yearbook to a man who has been a friend, teacher, and neighbor for two decades: Donald L. Kimble. He is a man who lives a life of honesty and friendliness, a man who loves laughter and telling tall tales, a man who loves to fish and play cupid in the community. He has served Inman not only in the field of education but also in church and in the Lions Club. He has served the nation as an agent in the FBI, a lieutenant in the Navy and an honor mem- ber in FDR's funeral. He has taught twenty-two years to both father and son while raising three children of his own. He will long be remembered as an example to every student who has passed through IHS. His classes have taught us to understand crops, live- stock , machinery, welding, and the value of a dime. He has enjoyed working in FFA and in young farmer's organizations. Inman High has been nis pride and FFA his particular joy since they have won many honors and awards including a State Fair Grand-Championship. He has enjoyed and has looked forward to the FFA Fishing Trips as much as the boys and even more. He has many fond memories of taking the boys to the American Royal, to many judging contests throughout the state, and to various field trips throughout the community. His retirement plans are incomplete but they include fishing, traveling and visiting with his many friends. In short, he is a man with a big heart and stu- dents will forever miss his towering presence in the halls of IHS.
