Text from Pages 1 - 96 of the 1970 volume:

Another year is past but not forgotten. If we look back, each of us will remember our own special moments. For some, it will be the hard work or sheer determina- tion we gave to the winning of a ball- game or the production of a class play. For others, it will be the music contests; the band trips; the choosing of class rings; or the first week at IHS. It might be the satisfaction of reaching a goal we thought unreachable. We have tried to capture some of these moments, that they might be remembered - and we present them to you in this ... 1970 TEUTON Inman, Kansas i SEATED FROM LEFT TO RIGHT: Debbie Penner, Robin Tate, Nettalee Peterson, Karen Doerksen, Peggy Toews, Bonnie Nikkei, Mary Schmidt. Initiation was quite an ex- perience that nobody will forget. Dressing in over- alls and gunny sacks and elephant walking around the football field made initiation an experience we'll never forget! For our class party we had a hayrack ride and went to a haunted house. Afterwards we came back to a bombardment game and refreshments of hot chocolate and carmel apples. The boys were actively involved in sports and the girls in FHA, Kayettes and Pep Club. I’m sure we’re all looking forward to our next three years at I.H.S. m-m-m Good!! Surprise! The theme for our club this year was Up With People. Projects planned for service to the school, community, nation, and world included: pillows for the teachers, ditty bags for the soldiers in Viet Nam, collecting money for Meals for Millions, and making tray favors for the Pleasant View Home. We also sold holly for a finance project, gave monthly programs under the direction of Bonnie Nikkei, and planned a Mother- Daughter Banquet. All of these activities involved both hard work and plenty of fun, and they helped to build many Kayette memories.
