We tried to enhance school spirit and in- terest through bi-weekly publications of a school news- paper. Although many times our paper fell short of these standards, we tried to provide an informative and inter- esting paper that would appeal to all types of IHS stu- dents. I hope those who worked on the Journalism Staff had as much enjoyment as I did in putting out our school newspaper, and possibly it may have added an- other dimension to our high school years. - DWIGHT GOERING, Editor, School Paper The school year 1968-'69 - another year gone by. The students of IHS have studied hard and have been involved in many activities. There are many memories instilled in the back of our minds - the bus rides, class- rooms, games, lunches, and our dearest friends. In pre- paring this book the staff tried to capture the memories which made the year a special one for you. Ihope the TEUTON will serve to help each of you relive your own special memories. - DIANNE JOHNSON, Editor, Yearbook earfoof azzof 011172 czflsm Qsfqyfs X81 Which one's the mother? Another school year has come to a close. We have made new acquaintances with people, with objects, with things that are and with things that have been. We have also taken a look at the future. We dream of things that may some day come about. This yearbook will help to draw together our varied experi- ences and present them as one great drama, which we will want to review again and again. We, as Seniors, have enjoyed the many exciting events and will remember all the cherished memories. Memories of being green Frosh, lr.-Sr. Banquet, and now graduation. For our class party this past year we went to Witchita to Frontier Land where some enjoyed ice skating and others miniature golf. Also we had a chili supper to make precious money for sneak. Being on the third stop of the ladder, Juniors are pressured with money making projects for the Junior-Senior Banquet and the Senior Sneak. Fascinating steps of their journey in education include choosing class rings, becoming actors in the Junior play, and serving as organization officers. The Class of '71 has survived the exciting and delightful school year of 1968-1969. Everything from a class hayrack ride to dissecting a worm was tried. A drawing for a camera as -first prize was held at the Nickerson football game. Classes such as biology, geometry, English II, and typing kept us out of mischiefg and the boys out for sports and the girls out for cheerleading kept us in the news. Mr. Miller, our sponsor, racked his brain trying to think of ways for us to earn money. Too bad we'd rather goof off than work! The boys were actively involved in football, basketball and track. The girls took part in nursery rhyme and Charlie Brown skits. Parties were also a part of their IHS life. In fall they planned a hayrack ride but be- cause of rain it turned out to be a bombardment game. They also had a roller skating party. The class of '72 is now look- ing forward to three more fun- filled years at IHS. ,MW When do we eat? Making party plans a .4,.ff,f,p:S-img X 4 S. Studying hard, boys? What's cookin', Vashti? That evening, the Seniors supervised an ele- phant wa1k down Main Street Qwith a police es- cortj and entertained the Frosh with several games including an egg walk, popcorn jump and mustard game. The fun was topped off with delicious goodies and the Freshmen became full-fledged IHS students. jv- S 'r Troub1es??? 1-' Here come the elephants! Our IHS royalty represented our school at the Annual May Pete that was held the two nights prior to May Day. They were also in the parade that was held May Day morning. Dwight and Dianne were honored at a special assembly that was sponsored by STUCO. The program consisted of singing by a group from McPherson College and special surprise bv Allen Thiessen. It takes '74 enthused girls and a sponsor that is back- ing you all the way. The Kayettes of Inman High have been busy with many projects and programs that have been very worthwhile. The best school projects were having a soap scrimmage, drink and cookies for semester break, corsages for the royalty, and candy for the teachers at different times of the year. World projects included sending money to Meals for Millions and also sending Diddy bags to Vietnam, I'm sure this was appreciated. The different projects for the community were sending fruit baskets to the Old Folks Home and also making people aware that it was election year. Having a penny mile proved fun and also a good way to earn money. Our finance was also helped along by having a raffle. Fashions for Your Dreams, set the mood for one of the best programs. Past Kayette members modeled their wedding gowns, the mothers were invited and it turned out beautifully. Some of the other programs included Jr. girls style show, American League of Women, 'Student-Teacher discussion, Fr. girls Christmas program, and others just as interesting and educational. The girls worked hard and made it agreat year. The meetings and activities carried out by the club this year helped members reach an understanding of what the Kansas Association for Youth is. The year began with the attendance of a STUCO workshop in Wichita. October 31st was the date of the first STUCO-sponsored party, a guided tour through a haunted house. Other projects and activities throughout the school term were slack and dress-up days, a juke box for the cafeteria, assemblies such as the mock election, and special recognition for honor students.
