Mary Pauls, President, was the toast- mistress for this annual event. The inspiring speaker was Mrs. John Warkentine, a native of Russia. Be- sides raising a family, she also teaches part time in the language department of Tabor College. Baby blue and pale pink streamers created the unique color scheme. A lifesize silhouette of a mother holding her child was the main point of in- terest as it was placed directly behind the speaker. Programs were shaped like baby booties and the nut cups as rattles. This banquet will long be a memory of IHS girls and mothers. Banquet theme Senior servers Boys quartet An enjoyable time for all PRESIDENT DAVE Sweetheart jacket presentation Doing To Learn F.F.A. Kent Parcell, a sports announcer from KWHK radio, Hutchinson gave a very interesting and inspiring speech. Dwight Goering gave a portion of the speech that he took to the FFA state speech contest, and the greenhands built the emblem. A gavel was presented to Mr. Kimble by Calvin Doerksen, vice-president of FFA. The stage was decorated with an enlarged, lighted replica o'f the FFA emblem. A natural looking, huge volcano, palm trees, and a bright full yellow moon completed the decora- tion scheme. Tables for four were attractive with bright tropical flowers for centerpieces and small grass huts were used as nut cups. Pat Neufeldt, junior class president, served as the toast- mistress. Senior class president, Dave Nachtigal, responded to the welcome. The speaker was Chaplain Allen Kolmer from the McConnel Air Force Base located near Wichita.
