From the heat of late summer through the chill of early fall, we know our boys worked very hard for the team. They had desire, determination, and spirit; and we were proud of them. Success is not measured by victory alone. Any athlete becomes a cham- pion when he personally gives all he has, and a little more, to the team. Ours was a team of cham- pions. BASKETBALL Our young, inexperienced Teutons of Inman High rose to unexpected heights in the 1964-1965 basketball season. The Mid-Kansas League is known as one of the toughest competitive leagues in the state, and Inman finished in a tie for 3rd. Following League play, the Teutons blazed through three hard- fought games to win the Chase District Tournament. Then, as District Champ- ions, the Teutons ended the season by placing a prideful 3rd in the St. John Regionals. Our team aroused much school and community spirit through their outstanding playing. ' ’ PEP OUB This year, 90% of the student body joined Pep Club, boosting our school spirit up to heights that Inman has never known. Pep rallies, conventions and individual enthusiasm has proven how much we are behind our team. Keeping enthusiasm and school spirit up hasn't been easy, but because of everyone's desire to do their best, we can say that we are the best Pep Club in the league. We owe a lot of credit to the sophomore girls for making the sharp, eye-catching posters for the halls and the games. Last, but not least, we owe our deepest appreciation to Judie Frie- sen, our president, for devoting so much of her time to making Pep Club worthwhile. MAR£WIN£ rand ONE ACT PtAY CmC IN THEIR EVES JUNIOR PtAY The Kelton family moves to California so that Mr. Kelton and his daughter, Julie, may be in the movies. Mr. Kelton lacked acting talent while his daughter, Julie, had talent but didn’t care about show-biz. The apartment the Keltons were living in was condemned unless some extensive repairs were made. In the meantime, Kenny, a young actor who could help them in show business, takes a liking for Julie. Finally, after being defeated of their purpose, the family decided to move back to Rainbow Falls. Mr. Kelton invented the Burpless Baby Bottle and decided to make this his business. Bill decides to move to Rainbow Falls and set up his plumbing business there. DEADLY ERNEST SENIOR FW Poor Henry Gilcrest got fired, jilted, and. evicted from his Aunt's boarding house. Sad and dejected, Henry spent the night in the park and met the bum, Mr. Bumpus. He tells Henry about Ernest who will get him out of his misery for only $17. 83. Henry pays Mr. Bumpus and goes back home to pack. However, Aunt Ethel has forgiven him, his girl takes him back, and his boss gives him a raise. From then on, Henry tries fren- ziedly to avoid everyone named Ernest. About that time, Mr. Bumpus reappears and confesses that he didn't even know an Ernest, but only wanted Henry's money. Eventually, Henry gets his life straightened out, (which includes $500) due to a fortunate misunderstanding, pays his rent, buys his girl a diamond, and everyone is happy. DRESS UP FOR, EDUCATION Dress Up For Education was the theme for our Mother-Daughter banquet this year. It was sponsored by the FHA on February 18, 1965, and pink and red streamers decorated the auditorium. Hats, dresses, handbags, and gloves were used as decorations to carry out the theme. The FHA President, Deloris Esau, opened the banquet with a welcoming speech; her mother, Mrs. Ben J. Esau, represented the mothers by giving the response. The boys' octet entertained the group with one number of special music, De Gospel Train. Miss Orpha Zimmerly, Dean of Women at Hesston College, was our guest speaker. Her discourse brought out several ideas concerning the importance of an ed- ucation. m banouet Doing to Learn was the theme for the annual FFA Banquet held on Fri- day, April 9, 1965. Mr. George Gardner, a Methodist preacher from Andover, Kansas, spoke on youth and the changing times. Darrel Johnson, Elaine Knackstedt, and Dale Schrag gave brief sum- maries of their speeches which had been presented at various contests in the agriculture field. For attending the most FFA Banquets, Mr. and Mrs. George Becker were awarded honorary Chapter Farming Pins. The entertainment for the evening was furnished by the Inman Girl's Sextet. DOING TO LEARU H (?) 5 O ft ft fN7W£ Mfsrv UOONUGWT JR .-SR . BANOUET IN THE MISTY MOONLIGHT was the theme of the Jr. -Sr. Banquet that was presented on May 1, 1965. in the High School Auditorium. Shaded blue streamers decorated the room. A delicious meal was followed by the welcome by Pam Ely. The Dragonnaires from Hutchinson Junior College sang some numbers after which Mr. Terry Stephens, the speaker of the evening, explained the value of time. It was certainly a beautiful and worthwhile evening. ClAQQ OF 1965 LT. Armed with lipstick, onions, and green peppers the seniors pounced on the frightened freshmen. Throughout the day red faced freshmen trotted down the hall loaded down with senior's books. It was a long, hot day for the freshmen. That evening the dubious freshmen attended a party given by the seniors. After the obligation of performing foolish acts, they were served refresh- ments and allowed to go home in peace. BUS DRIVERS MR. WALT KREHBIEL MR. JAKE WIENS MR. LEONARD PETERS MR.
