His illness, ad- vanced cancer, was discovered when he took his athletic physical. Even then Roy returned to school with all the vigor that a boy, that is a senior in high school, should have. He even played football and some basket- ball before his doctors said that he shouldn't participate anymore. He was up and down the halls, smiling, talking, and likely into some mis- chief. He was voted Prince Charming, for McPherson County’s All- Schools Day, to represent Inman Rural High School at that annual event. To be sure, Roy will be missed the most at home, but certainly in years to come, Roy will be remembered by his friends and classmates as they gather to recall their high school joys and adventures, and what greater tribute could there be than to be remembered by his friends, through the years. Club activities and degree work make it possible for members to have additional experience related to homemaking. Anyone who has taken or is taking Home Economics may join The activities our organization participated in are. Christmas caroling, Heart Sister Week, Trick or Treat for UNICEF. The F.F.A. is the largest boy's organization in the world. There are over 350,000 members in the United States, who have the same motto Learning to do, Doing to learn; Earning to live and Living to serve.” The F.F.A. was organized in the U.S. in 1928 and in Kansas in 1929 and in Inman January 1938. There were 32 members in the original organization in 1938. Today there are fifty members. 0K zyette Service is the main objective of Kayettes. Under our motto for this year We Will Not Fail” we had projects which have benefited our school, community and the world. We sponsored several all-school assemblies, presented programs at the Home for the Aged, and contributed to Meals for Millions. These were a few of our service projects. KAY PLEDGE I will, as a member of the Kansas Associa- tion for Youth, endeavor to maintain the high ideals of my organization, to make my personality a positive influence in the life of my school and my community, to under- stand the pre-eminent power of a vital re- ligion and to pass on to future members an association which will be a source of joy and satisfaction. School spirit improved as the school year progressed. At the ball games the members of the Pep Club sat behind the boys and cheered them on. The enthusiastic members kept the spirit going between games with their willingness to help. The main idea of the club this year was to promote en- thusiasm. Ideas such as: put- ting posters in the halls, Hoote- nannys and pep stunts at the pep rallies, and small banners to cheer the boys on at the games. Cakes sold after pep rallies, and pens sold at school enrollment helped to bring in some funds for the club's projects. mo ° r Jwnpr hot 0r red 0 ICcl-f-h need: defenders ? oor ;s :;S . .,r Sfrffri mp Q o«v 1« o Urap-vf1 Hush ftp V'C 7co iCen L. to R.: Pam Ely, Nina Kornelsen, Judie Friesen, Nancy Bullet, Joan Friesen. Circumstances might alter cases. This, stated by the butler Crichton, was the theme of the play given on November 22, 1963. Lord Loam, master of the house, was a strict believer in the equality of man, and required his household to treat the servants as equals at teas once a month. Crichton’s view was exemplified, how- ever, when Lord Loam, his three daughters, his nephew, Rev. Treherne, Crichton, and Tweeny, the in-between maid, were ship- wrecked on a desert island. Circumstances caused master to exchange places with servant for two years. Upon their return to civilization, Lord Loam withdrew his theory of equality. 7%e 7 7 fe Play £(' That's directing a play? When four attractive sisters are blazing with excitement over the wonderful World's Fair that is about to open right there in St. Louis, it's hard for the father to get in the announce ment he's nervously waiting to make. A big part of the older girl's excitement is that they will be enjoying the Fair with boys that are beginning to be important in their lives. The youngest sister’s main concern is to sneak up on a crabby woman next door and bite her leg! The girls are also in a state about the love life of their only brother, whom they suspect of ditching his sweet home town girl for some snob from the East. In the midst of the sister's humorous maneuvers to ruin their brother's new romance, Father finally breaks in with his announcement. The family is to move to New York because father got a better position. Because the girls want to stay in St. Louis for the fair and the big dance, they man- age to make a mess out of every- thing in a hilarious comedy. Father loses his job, and Tootie bites the boss' leg. In spite of the mess the girls make, everything does manage to come out alright. Look at the Fireworks! The officers performed the opening ritual and Keith Pauls gave the invocation. Ralph Ediger gave the welcome and Frank Ediger the response. Following the meal, Mr. Kimble presented the awards and Dale Schrag gave a speech. Music was provided by Danny and Dale Schrag. The guest speaker was Mr. Grice Sexton, safety direc- tor of the Kansas Farm Bureau. Following a few remarks by Mr. Simmonds, the closing rituals were presented by the officers.
