AN Ingraham's band was of record size this year. Of the seventy-eight members, seventeen were in the All-City Honor Band, and four were in the All-State Band, both of which performed for the Music Educatorls National Conference held in Seattle. During our victorious football season, the band was always on the scene, adding spirit and excitement to ev- ery game. At Ingraham's home games, the band present- ed intricate drills and marching shows, interesting and enjoyable to all. They also performed for the Thanksgiv- ing Day Championship Game and at all the football pep assemblies. Off the field, the band displayed their musical talents at the annual Fall, Winter, and Spring concerts, and at the annual All-City Band Festival where they have con- sistently reoeived high ratings. They were also invited for the eighth consecutive year to play in the annual concert and parade in Victoria, B.C., during Victoria's Spring Festival. Ingraham's Concert and Marching Band is out- standing and worthy of recognition. We are all but single notes in a great score,' Blending in harmony throughout the perform- ance. One Act Plays The one act plays from Ingraham also reflected a change in pro- duction attitudes. The Sophomore Class came up with Mr. Flan- nery's Ocean', directed by George Dykes. The Juniors' selection was The Bald Soprano directed by Bob Gallagher. Most startling was the Senior one act presentation of H27 Wagons Full ofCotton, an adult drama directed by Kurt Hitchman. Those involved put much time and effort into these productions and all agreed these plays were excellently directed and presented. 162
