THE TOURING CHOIR RETURNS WITH EXPERIENCES GALORE! The Touring Choir under the superior direction of Wallace Goleeke, has returned from their summer trip to Japan with experiences -never to be forgotten. The choir left Seattle June 10, 1964, and was very graciously received upon their arrival in Tokyo. The choir was accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. Elfers, Mr. and Mrs. Goleeke, Dr. and Mrs. Noonan, Miss Suguro, and Mr. and Mrs. Maxey, who served as chaperones. Dur- ing the four-week'tour, the choir visited countless schools in such cities as Tokyo, Hiroshima, Beppu, Kyoto, and Kobe. While touring these cities, each student lived with a Japanese family, as did the Kobe ,Choir on tour in 1963. The tour was by no means over when the choir left Japan, for they now flew to Ha- waii for a day or two, the perfect end to a perfect tour. The choir finally returned to Seattle on July 8, 1964 with many wonderful memories to look back upon. The ex- change of tours has proven to be profitable in learning the true nature and customs of two different countries. lit is believed that the impression left in Japan will insti- gate further knowledge and perhaps invoke further relations with foreign systems.
