The last six games were proof of this high spirit, for at last Ballard was defeated by the Rams - a goal set by Ingraham coaches several seasons ago. This defeat was carefully calculated and the team combination for victory was difficult to Hnd. The season began with defeat in the opener to the Northern champ Roosevelt. Then well-executed teamwork won three games for the Rams over Edmonds, Shore- crest and Lincoln. In the four following games, a disastrous slump occurred - Ingraham was defeated by Ballard, Shoreline, Terrace and by Roosevelt for a second time. All hopes for the play offs and the tournament were crushed. Although disappointed, the team was yet Lmdaunted. Their pride was in playing their best and this brought results. The last six games of the season held five victories - only Lincoln marred this streak. The proper working combinationrhad been found and Edmonds, Shorecrest, Ballard, Shoreline and Terrace bowed to superior Ram capabilities. Ingraham was undoubtedly the most improved team in the Metro League. Had the season merely begun with the last six games, Ingraham would unquestionably have been a contender for a berth in Seattle's last State Toumament.
