The three subdivisions of Ingrahamts Instrumental Music Department participated in new and varied performances. The Concert Orchestra played the original Broadway score for The Music Man in November, as well as performing in the Christmas Program, the Winter Concert, and the Man Who Came to Dinner. The members were also awarded the highest attainable scores in the all-city Orchestra Festival competition. Ingraham's Concert Band represented Ingraham in city events as well as school activities. The city ob- served the band in concerts during the World's Fair and also in the closing ceremonies. The band, how- ever, gained school appreciation through their appear- ance at the football games and the Winter and Spring Concerts. The Pep Band was acknowledged by Ingraham stu- dents as the best in the city. They accompanied the song leaders and student body duing routines at the basketball games. An important joint event for all three departments was their invitation to participate in an annual cele- bration in Victoria, B. C. - Ingraham's music echoed over the Pacific Northwest. Now that s how I like to hear it!
