4 This is a god. His name is Clyptone. He never was o very big or a very important god; but nevertheless, he is a god. For the last few centuries . no one has turned to the gods for advice, and Clyptone has fallen into a terrible state. In- activity has not been good tor him. He cannot understand the world of today; it is com- pletely beyond him. It is also hard for him to believe that his world is gone. He spent several years searching tor some of his oW cronies or even a small part of his old world . . . fruitlessly. He then wandered around half-interestedly observing the great panorama of eart$ Four years ago he decided that the search was useless; and that he must find a place for himself in the mad con- fusing world of today. For some strange reason of his own, which is completely beyond anyone else, he has chosen Inglewood tor his new home. Me was not too sure of himself, so he has been ob- serving the world preparing himself for the big step. The time finally arrived for Clyptone to make the descent to earth. When he got here things were even more con- fusing than he had expected

Away from Inglewood in track circles he is well known, too. His starting block, which was used in the track events of the 1952 Olympics, is consid- ered one of the biggest boons to track in the last years. Inglewood owes a lot to Dick Arnett. He has done more for track at Inglewood and the Bay League than any other single man. Inglewood Relays, for which he is responsible, are in their 1 5th consecutive year. We, at Inglewood, feel that no man ever has or ever will beat Arnett’s record as a coach or as a man. bfuAi 3
