Hallj Rebel Mistakes lead to Shelby Victory 27-8 Shelby made 27 points in the first half on Rebel fumbles and interceptions. The Rebels scored on a pass from Gray to Christmas. Defensive standouts were Blackwood, Taylor and Thompson. 7th Ranked Rebels Rornp over Crusaders 43-0 The offense was lead by Slater, Gray and Thompson who scored two touchdowns apiece. The defense had a remark- able game and was lead by West, Lockhart, Helm, and Parsons. Pickens Overpowers Rebels 28-'7 Top ranked Pickens outplayed and overpowered the once-beaten Rebels. The Rebels played before their big- gest crowd ever and the jitters were apparent. Howell put the only score on the board in a losing cause. 41

Rebels Open Season With Big Wins Inglenook Rips Union 22-0 Inglenook opened its season by ripping Union 22-0. Gray scored three touchdowns and Thompson rushed for 65 yards. Gray on the run again Inglenook Up Ends Talledega 19-12 Thompson scored on a five-yard plunge to get Ingle- nook on the board. Christmas and Bolden caught TD pas- ses to finish the scoring. Blackwood and Bolden were defensive standouts. Rebels Roll Over Faith 29-O Thompson, Bolden, Blackwood, and Gray did all the scoring while Layton and Slater led the defensive blitzes. Homecoming Ruined By Tie 8-8 Inglenook enjoyed the half-time show as well as an 8-O half-time lead . A Homecoming victory was apparent until Bessemer pulled a razzle-dazzle play on their last possible chance. A two point conversion was successful, thus ruining Homecoming for the Rebels. Rebels Triumphant Over Trojans 12-6 Tri-County scored first on a 30 yard sprint. The Trojans went for a 2 point conversion but, the Rebel defense stopped them cold. A 60-yard shot from Gray to Bolden put the Rebels right back on the board . The defense stayed tough and late in the 4th quarter Taylor put the icing on the cake with a 2- yard plunge. Inglenook Gives One Away 34-15 The Rebels choked again in the first quarter and allowed Abbeville 21 points. A swing pass to Thompson set up a 1-yard rip by Howell for 6 points. The defense only allowed 2 touchdowns from then on. Gray scored on a sneak and Thompson added the 2 point conversion.
