LouAnn Gregory shows girls can do it too. Gutter Successful is the word to sum up our bowling teams this year. The Varsity Girls squad captured an unprecidented first place with 22 wins and 2 losses. They were led by Joni Halvorson with a 151 average. Margie Gray had an unequaled 210 high game in KingCo this year. Boys Varsity this year tied Newport for first with 26 wins and 7 losses, but a roll-off declared Newport winners much to the surprise of Coach Wayne Bradford. Viking Jeff Baker had KingCo high series with 645 and Rick Jones high game 242. In Boys J.V. action we were nudged out for first place but took second respectively with 19 wins and 8 losses. Wayne Gates had KingCo J.V. high game 242. The Girls J.V. captured fifth place with. 9 wins and 12 losses. Our team this year went to state and placed very well. 5

He was quoted as saying “individual achievement is team achievement and 1 feel we’ve all improved as a team.’’ Stronger than last year, they were led to four wins and eight losses but their highlight was the historic cream over arch-rivals the Bothell Cougars. The Vikings most talented swimmers were Curt and Dave Downey, with Craig Kelley in the breast stroke. Also sophomore Tim (Buzz) Stolemier (State Finalist) was exceedingly excellent. In diving Tor Stubsjoen led the Viks with runner up Dave Jensen. Ninth graders dominated the team and coach Mark Jaeger said “we’ve got a lot to look forward to next year.” 3.
