A255 amy On September 1948 30 students making up the class of 52 the most spectacular classthat ever ventured through the halls of lndustry High School began the Journey that was to be re membered as one of the great exploratrons of all time During our first year Richard Cobb led the class as president Bob France vice president and Lorene Rowland as secretary treasurer were his faithful helpers Our adult sponsor for the fresh man year was Mrs Odessa Reed Whrle in the ftrst step of our Journey we lost Linda Easley and Dicky Rankin who both moved away Wendell Royer discontinued school During the summer of1949 two of our members Ann Haffey and Betty Skrles moved away and Ralph Frakes did not return to school We started out with the gain of a new student Ruth Matthews At the beginning of the second semester Delores Hunt a transfer from Adair joined our ranks Eugene Heaton was elected president Margie Snowden vice president and Patty Willey secretary Ueasurer Mrs Maxine Janes was class sponsor Near the end of the sophomore term Ronald Gray discontinued school Merle Twidwell a transfer from Plymouth started out our Junior year with us Norma Estes also started but quit shortly after the second semester During the year we lost Howard Lrndsey who quit school to get a Job Roy Foster also qurt and Joined the Arr Force Bob France led the Mrs Maxine Janes and Mr Vern Chick served as sponsors We gave A Case ofSpr1ngt1me a three BCI comedy as our Junior class play Our senior year the final step rn our great Journey we started out with a class of 21 students Alice Jackson transferred from Macomb High early rn the first semester Offrcers for this year were Margie Snowden president Patty Willey vice president and Tom Fowler secretary treasurer Miss Maxrne Burgard and Mr Vern Chick led we class as sponsors We gave Gtrls Are Like That under the direction of Mrs Underwood for our senior play We raised money our senior year rn such ways as picking up corn game concessions selling football pins class prns bake sales dances and by various other means This money financed the mp to New Orleans Louisiana which every one thoroughly enjoyed Thus ended our Journey during the four years we attended lndustry High School We are proud to say that we belong to the class of 52 a class much lrke a snowflake we left a mark but not a stain U c . . maxi 675255 Jailecy After laboring very hard at lndustry Hrgh School for four years we now frnd all of the members have grovm a lrttle older rn the past frfteen years srnce we graduated on May 23 1952 While travelrng around the country we stopped to vrsrt the drfferent members of the class Rrchard Cobb rs now a physics teacher at Industry High He s a lady krller just lrke hrs old physrcs teacher We see Patty Wrlley rs now flying around rn a Jet plane with her favorite pilot and leavrng Red and Bob behind in the clouds Aslazy as ever we see Eldon Provrne lrvrng happrly on the money hrs wrfe rs makurg at Ford Hopkins There s Beulah Mrller and Garl enjoying the beautiful moon of Hawarr where Garl rs statroned with the U S Marine Corps We also can hear the prtter patter of lrttle feet Robert Featherlrn rs now floor walker at Walgreen s drugstore He s trying to protect Mrllre from all the men Vrrgrnra Parker rs now Mrs Vrrgrnra McSperrrtt and she runs a dude ranch down rn Texas She has 16 lrttle cowboys to help her run rt As Bob France always lrked chrckens he rs now running a chicken farm rn Macomb He s rarsrng a lot of bantam roosters Artha Jane Jones rs now owner of a square dance hall rn Webster There s always a brg fight every Saturday night to see who gets to dance with Artha Maybe rt rs because she takes rn all the money Irmmy Lathrop rs now a bookre at Churchill Downs race track He s having just as much luck there as he had rn skrpprng school rn 1951 1952 Bradford and Dorothy Caldwell wrth their 22 krds just came back from a wrnter vacation rn Florida We see that Larry Deener and Rose are very happy running their Plymouth garage They are well on junior Mrller and Margie Snowden are now running the St Lours Cardinals but there are st1llBrll and Chuck actrve rn the out freld Gene Heaton and Maggie are running a dog kennel for cocker spanrels We hear that srnce Alice Jackson lost out with Bob she Joined the Arr Force and rs now playing the field Taking her mrsery out rn the arr Merle Twrdell rs now owner of a skating rrnk rn Plymouth and hrs star skater rs Gracie Stambaugh We see that Jrm P Finally gave rn to Alleyne Norris and they are now happrly marrred They have two or three old model T cars just enough to haul their 12 krds around rn Tommy Fowler rs now manager of Ralph Godfrey s traveling donkeys He s getting to look JUS! like them Shirley Rreblrng rs now married to Wayne and lrvrng rn Mt Sterlrng She and her husband are running a boarding house Brll Mrller rs kept busy going coon hunting and Sltllng with Beulah chrldren He leads qurte an rnterestrng lrfe Delores Hunt and Gay are married but strll feudrng as ever Richard Yaap rs strll a bachelor and he s running a watermelon farm Now he s experiencing what rt s lrke to run off the krds that take watermelons Dorla Heaton rs now a speech director at the U of I and Elvre attends every class Mr Chrck now has a football team composed of lrttle Chicks with a cheerleading squad to boot Mrss Burgard is now happrly married to a lab teacher and rarsrng a lot of lrttle chemrcals She s trying to teach them how to type I their way now with their family, they have three sets of twins,
