Seniors We stand on Life's Threshold knocking at her portal. In our confident hands we hold tools wrought through years of training. Here we stand on Life's Threshold knocking at the door, minds grasping at new thoughts, hearts beating to the pulse of life, souls unfolding, eager to soar away to some unknown sphere. Life, weary and weighted down with sorrow, hears us knocking on the door. To us, with eager hands she feeds her waning faith, the door swings wide. Welcome, youth, you've brought new hope g courageous' spirits to conquer all the problems and trials of this Life 3 young and eager feet to travel toward the goal for which all mortals strive-toward Happiness. .- , lf XMI , nv, 1- ,Q V, -lM: ' 6z - an 5 ' J. What Graduation Means To Me KA Senior? Graduation is to me a sign-post on Life's Highway. For twelve years I have been looking forward to the moment when I shall get my diploma. At times it has seemed illuminating and has shone so clear that I easily could see the path- way leading to it. At other times, it has glowed, dimly, and in my blind groping I seemed to falter and to slide in striving toward it. But now I am, almost there and can plainly see on it, Success straight ahead. Graduation brings to my heart both sorrow and: gladness. It grieves me to feel that soon the friends who have hit t-he same ruts together in our class- rooms will never again be together. Teachers also grow rather dear at times when they assign no advance assignment. On the other hand, graduation makes me feel as if I've realized first base successfully and gives me courage to face the future. Whether I go on to school, or, inexperienced, take a job, I shall have con- fidence in it because I have had a good background of fundamentals in Indianola High School. Thus, as the time comes when I shall graduate, I shall be thrilled, sad- dened, and hopeful, and always will cherish the moment when the diploma is passed into my own hands. 1
