Amy Lipe Crowned 1975 Homecoming Queen The Homecoming Court The 1975 Homecoming Court was presented October 3, 1975 during the half-time of the IA-Washington game at Legion Field. The festivities began as each maid was accompanied onto the field by her escort while the IA Band played I Can't Help Falling in Love With You.” Leading the procession was Sophomore maid. Miss Laura Lee, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Eddie Lee. She was escorted by Bill Harper, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jack E. Harper, Jr. Next, was Junior maid Draughon Poindexter, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Scott Poindexter of Inverness. She was escorted by Scott Miller, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Miller of Indianola. The first of the Senior maids to be presented was Miss Judi Allen. Judi is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. D. S. Allen of Indianola. She was escorted by Jimmy Slater, son of Mr. and Mrs. L. E. Slater of Indianola. Following Judi was Miss Celeste Baird, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Baird of Indianola. Her escort was Edgar Buchanan, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Buchanan. The third Senior maid was Amy Lipe. Amy is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Lipe of Fairview. She was escorted by Keith Buchanan, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Lundy of Indianola. The last Senior maid to be presented was Miss Stacy Randall, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Randall of Baird. Her escort was Lee Stratton, son of Dr. and Mrs. Raymond Stratton of Indianola. The climax of the evening came when Kim Williams, 1974 Homecoming Queen, crowned Miss Amy Lipe as 1975 Homecoming Queen. Kim is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Everette Williams of Moorhead. Flower girl was Jeannie Hawkins, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Hawkins of Indianola, and crown bearer was John Morgan Brindley, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Brindley of Indianola.
