They hired the government’s best prison architect; bought some art. foam slippers and brown bathrobes; made it a week's wait for an upper Gl; and then discounted the cigarettes in the commissary — anything to keep the customers satisfied ... 21

THE WIZ Can you ever make anyone understand the wild and wacky world of Wishard? After you got there, you swore off drinking (for awhile), put on a PPD, and started advocating gun control. Remember the 20-year-old G5P4 in OB clinic who said, “Look at all the young girls here these days! ? Remember the one good 9:30 meal you had? Remember the story about the nurse who coded on an illicit rendezvous in Sun- shine Hall? Remember the heroin addict who showed you where his best veins were? 23
