Continuing Education Despite long hours spent on hospital wards, the dedicated class of '76 found additional time to pursue medical know- ledge. As pictured here journal clubs, informal lecture groups, and independent scientific research provided needed in- tellectual stimulation. In Addition, emer- gency room moonlighting brought pay as well as experience. The South Side Clinic traded community service for the oppor- tunity to learn from patients. Social Events Medical school provided a vast array of social events ranging from the SAM A fall party to the AMSA fall party. Indianapolis, the midwest culture center, had both an art museum and an art theater. And when all else failed, there was still a can of beer and the tube.
