Witli all due respects to all persons connected with the institution during its most ]iros])erous period of exi.stence to the present time. The influence of this great educator, architect and genius is felt as far as sjireads tlie fame of Indiana. As an architect. Dr. Anient has been an iiis])iration to the school. Every- where we look around tlie school we see his genius displayed, not glaringly, but unalile to be liid beciiuse of its inestimable worth. [duiinistrntiiiH JANE E. LEONARD Since the foiuulatit)!! iif the school in IST; ), cw lias liceii no ])er.son con- nected witii the institution wh o has liivcn such a measure of devotion as has Miss Leonai-d. She has shared the joys and son ' ows alil e since its foundation in the most generous way. As [)recci)tress of the school her intluence has been mostly with the fi ' irls. hut she is held with the l)oys with the same degree of esteem as with the jiirls. She has been seen on the sideline of the football from bciiinning to end and in the roughest weather of the season. She has been one of us in time of defeat and heai ' lily entered into the joys of victoi ' y. She was born in Leonard, neai ' ( ' learfield. Pa. She was a student and later a teacher in the ilillersxille Normal School, and from there she was called to the I ' recepti ' esship of ln liana. where she has since remained. Lveryone who knows the school, knows of the woi ' thy life of Aunt Jane, as Aliss Leonard is aft ' ectionatel ' spoken of. Her worth to this school is ines- tinialile as [H ' eceptress, ( ' hi-istian woi-ki i ' and teacher. Her position is ' no ea.sy one. but under hei ' care more than 1, ()()() girls are most comix ' tently governed. As a Chi ' istian woi ' kcr hei ' intluence is an inspiration to not only the girls but also the whole school. As a teacliei- her classes are filled, not by compulsion. l)ut by the choice of the students. We all have the dcei)est feeling of good will foi ' Miss Leonard, an .l are glad to have been influenced by tiiis noble woman. page t ' i ' cnty-scvcn
