JAMES E. AMENT, LL. D. In tlie last six years there has been a marked develop- ment along many lines in the Indiana Normal School. The institution has l)een transfi)niied from tlie in ' dinary Normal with six hundred students into ;i wide-awake, pro- gressive school of one thousand students. This progress is in a large measure due to the untiring efforts of the present Principal. Dr. Anient. Coming to ns from the .Middh ' West, he is well pre- pared to understand the needs of such a school as this, and he has made good u- e (d ' his ideas. His jiower as an execu- tive is inniMial.
