Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity danced through their winter formal, Gypsy dance, and a Hawaiian Melee pledge dance, then planned their annual campus reception for Little 500 Weekend. Athlet- ically inclined, the men of SAE won the all-sports trophies for intramurals for three consecutive years and retired the trophy this year. Speakers conducted weekly house programs. A Pi Kappa Phi fraternity cooled it at their pad during their tradi- tional Left Bank Dance which has an established beatnik theme. In the spring, the Pi Kappa Phis danced their formal Rose Ball. They went all out for intramural sports — especially football — entering the championship playoffs. Invited professors gave spe- cial talks to the fraternity ' s pledge class. PI KAPPA PHI 323

The men also won the National Founders Cup as the top SAM chapter in the country. An 18-room addition increased the house ' s capacity to 95 men.
