Life In The Dorm Is Fun I.S.D. has changed much since the 1940 ' s. Many rules governing our lives on campus have changed. In talking with former graduate Kathy Walters of 1968, I found that many of the after school activities were different — 4-teens, Girl Scouts, Brownies, and Drama Club were some of the examples of activities we had then. Winona Alter, 1949, said that no dating was allowed, but when there was, we were not allowed to hold hands at all. The boys and girls met twice a week and were separated at meal time. Punishments were horrible, says Leslie Massey, 1943. We had to dig coal, wash windows, and mow grass with a hand mower. See the comparison of long ago to today? Will there be a lot of changes in the future? Patli Dillingham, Arlene Downing, and Debbie Kirby have a blast eating ice cream and elephant ears at the Indiana State Fair, during the first week of school. Mike Penn relaxes in the KRC after basketball practice. 30 Curtis Sigafoose orders pizza from the Girls ' Club in the lounge.
