PG 'WO 0,0539 OC: las l f Pi H 1 Qin-.4 li Last Page Lyric Such a school year of events as witnessed by old Ma Ho Hi. School started on September nineth-my, how the time did fly. At the first of school we had a show that wouldn't repeat for money, Sunshine pledges togged in rags and paint with dolls proved funny. Old Age Pensions for Our State was subject of a hot debate, Affirmative Seniors were hot that day, the Juniors came in late. The Seniors for annual staffj attended the high school press meet, They found the where, the way, the why to a year book that can't be beat. The teachers' Christmas party was like tomcats in a barrel, It started with a peanut fight and ended with a carol. To celebrate three straight net wins, the entire school adjourned, Captured old man Avon, on a funeral pyre he burned. There was a big watch party dance, it surely was a treat, But was complained that New Years brought in tired and aching feet. Our ball boys went hot in the sectional meet and had thoughts of the final fray But due to an error of scorer or bearer, they had vanquished foes to give way Mary Jacobs with The Constitution won the annual verbal fray. The Sunshine gave a weiner roast, we'll ne'er forget that dog-gone day. The Home High's flashy net squad made a record hard to sever, With sixteen wins and two defeats, turned in the best mark ever. The inter-class fthe first in yearsj was made a great success, The Juniors won without a doubt, they knew they would, I guess. Mr. Arthur Berault of great dramatic fame, Gave several plays before the school, too numerous to name. The baseball year, with several rookies, wasn't just the best one yet, But gave the men such thorough training that next year they're a sure bet. A poetry contest was fostered by English, offering prizes of money, John Turner spent first prize long ago, before he'd won-quite funny. The Seniors gave their class play on May the twenty-third, Then scheming Anne of Ann Arbor proved as honest as the word. Two essay contests fostered by the Franklin D. A. R.'s Were, the American Revolution and Governing this State of Ours. The Juniors proved delightful hosts to the Seniors-their reception, Though precedented by other such, for splendor waived exception. The Faculty to carry on such honors to its Senior class, Was host to these extinguished scholars, broke the Seniors' fast. Two tennis teams were organized, some speedy set to try, They played, for their opponents, the teams of Franklin High. Commencement came on June the fifth with pomp and preparation, Seven Seniors were the guests of a well attended graduation. School adjourned the following day, but I for next year's studies say, If you are far from the honor roll, work! show them you're no one's fool.

Who likes to have a good dream interrupted anyway? 'Davis County. High School Cases Cause of Much Worry to Teachers Mrs. Miller: Mr. Sageser, don't you think these cases are getting to be quite a disgrace to our high school? Mr. Sageser: They certainly are and I'm glad you brought this ques- tion up. There are so many of them that even the most casual visitors can notice an undercurrent of turmoil and waste of time when the students should be studying. Mrs. Miller: Certainly, I have been studying about these little cases of the high school. As things are, there can be no efficiency of study or economy in school paper and supplies from writing so many trifling notes. Things have got to be better organ- ized. Mr. Sageser: Yes, I've realized that for some time. Here and there, at all times of the day, you can see the boys and girls with that blank look on their faces, looking, looking, always looking, as if for something the whereabouts of which was not even indefinitely known. It's almost tragic, no wonder the teachers report little or no results from special re- ports, readings, etc., so vital for an educational foundation. Mrs. Miller: I guess we'll have to refer this to Mr. Boyd. What this high school needs is bigger and better bookcases for our ever growing library. John Turner was stopped after read- ing 'a few lines of a newspaper article he had been asked to select for Jour- nalism. Miss Coons: Why did you select that article, John? John: fscratching headJ Well now, this is a coincidence, that's what puz- zles me. Claire Barnette remarked that she used arm movement because it was free. Heard During Basket Ball Game Charles Irvine: Watch out Adams, that boy is going to DASH in there! Ralph French: Something must be wrong! I've cut this thing off three times already and it's still too short. A. Butcher's Orchard Emma Naylor: Do sausages grow on trees? Clyde Parsley: Look at this J Dick, it has both beauty, strength, and vitality. Maxine Darrow: Oh, I'm just a dizzy blonde. Latin Shark Franklin Barnard: What did you do in school today? James Purdue: Well, I gave a book report for English and learned how to do square roots in Latin. Yeah, Well, That's pretty good, Uh huh, Hot dog, Ritzy, Peachy, Oh baby, Hot zizzety, Not bad, Well its settled then. You'll have to take turns though, I haven't enough bubble pipes for the entire Junior class. Using the ratio of a peanut shell, To a showman's trunk. Ike Pierson hoped to grow up big- That much his hopes have shrunk. C5 DP 0,01 '10 QCA lei?
