Second row: Mr. Cade, Instructor, John Turner, Heydon Buchanan, Harmon Scheider, Emerson Boyd, Dorse Estle, Robert Miller. HE MECHANICAL Drawing Classes under the supervision of D. S. Cade have progressed rapidly during the past school year. The depart- ment, composed of two classes, has twelve students. The first class composed of six students, are all beginners except Dorse Estle. The second class also has six, but only four of these are beginners, the advanced students being John Turner and Robert Miller. Each of the beginning students has completed a set of house plans this semester, the set being composed of four elevations, first floor plan, basement plan, roof and 'plot plan. Dorse Estle and John Turner have taken mechanical Details this semester, while Robert Miller is taking architectural drafting. Third row, left to right: Clyde Parsley, Ethel Fattig, Ruth Brad- nick, Adeline Caple, Heydon Buchanan. HE Commercial department is divided into five divisions, beginning typing and shorthand, advanced typing and shorthand, and book- keeping which are taught under the supervision of Miss Eva Keene. The typing classes have done a great deal of artistic work for Grand Lodge and Eastern Star days at the Home. Various contests have been held during the year to increase both the accuracy and speed in the shorthand and typing classes. The students are trained in every line of general office Work to prepare them for the work they will take up after leaving school.
