N SEPTEMBER 7, 1926 school opened and sixteen green Freshies journeyed up another flight of stairs, willing to try to kill the fierce warriors, Algebra, Latin, English and Vocation. It happened, that after a few weeks of green paint had worn off, we became educated enough to call a class meeting and elect officers. Kathryn Hopkins was elected President, Wallace Sperry, Vice-President, Helene Silvers, Secretary and Treasurer and Miss Jessie Merry, Sponsor. Upon the suggestion of the wise and noble Seniors, it was decided that an Interclass basket ball tournament would be held. Although the Freshies were handicapped on account of the limited number of boys, we sent both the Sophomores and Juniors to defeat only to be defeated by the Seniors. The Johnson county basket ball tournament was held in our gym and the Freshie girls showed what good cooks they were by preparing and serving meals in the basement of the school building. In our Freshmen year we lost one member, Sidney Cole, who made his home at Long Beach, California. So ends our Freshman year with us little Freshies wishing we were matured enough to be called Seniors,

Third row, left to right: Earl Naylor, Wallace Sperry, Raymond Litherland, Clyde Parsley, Howard Pellett, S SOPHOMORES we were very sophisticated, so much so that we floated among our superiors with considerable ease, looking upon the Juniors scoffingly, upon the Seniors with a haughty frown and upon the insignificant Freshmen with disdain. This year the Juniors gave us the honor of serving the Seniors at the Junior-Senior reception. They even invited us to stay and dance. Thiat made us feel important, at least. Our class was well represented on the base ball team as Wally Sperry was the Home's southpaw crack pitcher. During this phase of our journey the same class officers were elected with Miss Marion Coy as Sponsor to lead the way as we proved the theories of Geometry, fought battles of History, received hostages with Caesar, and explored the English shores. At the end of this trip we lost seven members: Wallace Sperry, Howard Pellett, Bernice Nelson, Wilma Scott, Grace King, Irene King, and Lillian Armstrong. 3250 CBO: 'WO QCA las
