'W' 'V I E IVORY In mid-August l945 the war against the Iapanese came to a dramatic finish. The blockade, the atomic bomb, the Russian entry into the war and the mounting blows on the empire forced Iapan to surrender. Cessation of hostilities found the INDIANA operating with a fast carrier task force of the Third Fleet off Tokyo. In the following pages are pictures of the officers and men who were with the INDIANA at the end. In addi- tion there are views of life aboard ship, pictures of na- tive life in the Pacific Islands and actual combat scenes. This pictorial review provides a cross section of the INDIANPQS record during the final year of the war.
