JACKSON HOLT BIRDSONG Bird antedated the Beatles by two years in his hair style. He was only forty pounds underweight but had the lowest voice in the school. Ja' Bird won a Merit Scholarship and was Council Secretary. He plans a postgraduate year at the Springs to catch up on all the P. E. he missed. “No, Coach, I haven’t stolen any weights.” ALBERT MICHAEL BRONSON Doormouse attended Springs for two years. He was Commissioner of Services, Photo Editor of the old ISSINFO and Editor of the KHALAS. Boo was a member of the Trojans and the Mon-dav-Night-at-the-Movies Club. DONALD ELLARD BRUNSON Deeb was a quiet boy who concentrated on his projected translation of the Aeneid. He was a good student and also specialized in soccer, track, and breaking bones.

DAVID MACLEOD BACHELDER Batch gave up a promising career at Sewanee to come to Indian Springs. He was a member of the track, golf and drinking teams and sang in the Glee Club. Dave got a bang out of cards and weekends. LEO MAX BASHINSKY Leon’s Jayne Mansfield hat was a familiar sight around campus, lie could always be counted on as a bridge fourth and was an active participant in intramurals. Everybody liked Leo, even though he roomed with Mr. Grimes. CLYDE WILLIS BASS Willie B. was a soccer player and a member of the track team and Les Amis de la France. Bass's Renault set an ISS track record for the quarter mile. Willie was an excellent draftsman, and his work around the print shop will never be forgotten. •4

BRUCE LINDSEY BUTLER The Fox became a legend at ISS in his own time. Sometimes known as the Mad Bomber. Bruce found time to mastermaid almost all the pranks ever committed at Springs. Butler played soccer, ping-pong, and was co-editor of the yearbook. STANLEY DOWE BYNUM St in the Spider was an excellent student and a good mayor. He was on the basketball and tennis teams, was a Glee Club officer, and blew his horn. Stan's dining hall announcements were pleasantly informal, though sometimes inaudible. JAMES WESLEY CLOWER III Jim was the onlv person who ever tried to surf on the ISS lake. He sang in the Glee Club; play ed soccer, and was a prankster. Clower managed to get out of two final exams by staging a fake appendicitis attack. 6
