I- x. . ' 'Y -x. . - a W 'I Serving Us Day to Day Two important groups of people at Indian River were the custodial staff and the cafeteria staff. The cus- todial staff members were the first and last people to see the inside of I.R. on a school day. Two shifts, ranging from 7 A.M. to midnight kept the custodial staff busy many hours. In spite of their workload, they still found time to give special assistance when it was needed. The cafeteria staff also started its day before even the first busload of students arrived. This early start re- sulted in a variety of balanced lunches for two lunch periods fil- led with hungry Braves. Custodial Staff: top rowg Mr. W.C. Behind the Scene Help The faculty and students recog- nized the special services provided by our youth services officer from the Chesapeake Police Department and our human relations co- ordinator both of Whom helped to maintain a friendly atmosphere at Indian River. Our school nurse helped us to spot problems in health and en- couraged us to see the appropriate doctor. In addition, we were always advised to establish good health habits. The school community worker did a fine job establishing lines of communication between the home and the school when conventional methods were unsuccessful. 186 Faculty f. ,.
