Along with the warm weather, 4 Rhythm And Timing Marked the boys and girls tennis teams swung into action. The boys' team, under the direction of coach Dick Hodsdon, worked hard to perfect their forehands and serves. Mrs. Andrea Deaton was the pilot for the girls' team. Each girl had to disci- pline herself in the fine art of playing tennis. Rhythm and timing, two very important aspects in the game, were brought out in each girl through their hard work and the fine coaching of two understanding people. 108 Boys Tennis 1 M. ,f Iii, L

The Golf Team had to work hard to be able to swing that club and hit that ball with accuracy. Coach Gary Everton gave much time and showed much patience in the development of the team. Team members for this year were Mike Heath, Billy O'Connor, Mark Estienne, and Pete Clough. Something new at Indian River took place this year, the girls gym- nastics team was formed. Coach Bill Lassister worked with the girls to develop skills on the balance beam, uneven parallel bars, vault- ing, and in floor exercise. This looks like the sport of the future for Indian River High School. In spite of being a neophyte team in gym- nastics, our team placed second in the city meet. - t:,,,.:,g,gat. . I rl!
