IN MEMORIAM-BEVERLY ANN GATES The Sanilog Staff would like to share with you Beverly's most loved poem. In times of sadness and depression, she read this and it gave her strength. In memory of her, may it give you strength. I asked God for strength that I might achieve: I was made weak that I might learn humbly to obey. I asked for health that I might do greater things: I was given infirmity that I might do better things; I asked for riches that I might be happy; I was given poverty that I might be wise. I asked for power that I might have the praise of men; Iwas given weakness that I might feel the need of God. I asked for all things that I might enjoy life; I was given life that I might enjoy all things. I got nothing I asked for; but everything Ihad hoped for. Almost despite myself, my unspoken prayers were answered. I am, among all men, most richly blessed.

In Nursing Joy and sadness, sparkle and quiet- ness, laughter and tears; these we shared with Beverly. A charming, sincere girl who involved her whole self in whatever she did. All of these and many more are our remembrances of Bev who gave to those in need. Caring for children who were ill, helping them to re- cover, brought her the most happi- ness she had experienced in nursing. So many words . . . so many thoughts come, but these can never express the way in which she contributed to our lives. The truly great are those whose influence lives after them. . . this was Bev. And to we who knew her, death does not end her life, but enhances the memories and lets us but love her more. In Social In Fun Page 27
