In the beginning God Created - Yes, He created . . . handr. Hands for us to -create with, -work with, -love with, -teach with, -play with, and -pray with. Hands to do the simple task . . . Hands to do the difficult. To a nurse hands are life itself. She tremblingly changes her first bed, administers her first hypo, and changes her first dressing, -all with her hands. She more delicately bathes the squealing newborn, removes the imbedded suture, and aids the attending surgeon, -all with her hands. And, as the nurse grows, the activities of her hands expand. Her hands reach out - not just for herself, but for others. To all phases of life - birth, - infancy, - childhood, - adolescence, - maturity, and - death, the nurse's hands are building, and reaching out. Yes, God created hands - your hands and my hands.
